Dear Ladies and Gentlemen! The private fund "Äåðæàâà" with the blessing of the Bishop of Tomsk and Asino Rostislav is preparing to publish an album devoted to the investigation of the personality of the enigmatic Siberian elder Feodor Kozmich – who, according to the legend, is identified with the personality of the not less enigmatic Russian Emperor Alexander I called in the history of the court "Sphinx unraveled till death". For the first time in the history, the rarest texts, unique photos and engravings as well as icon - painting images of St.Feodor of Tomsk created by the icon - painters of Tomsk Virgin - Alexievsky friary will be gathered in the album. The relics of St.Feodor of Tomsk are located nowadays in the Virgin - Alexievsky friary. Some icons are represented in the only copy, the fact itself raises the value of the album. For the first time the texts and iconography of the album will throw light upon the legendary personality of Alexander I – St. Feodor of Tomsk – beginning with the reign of the Emperor up to the glorification of the sacred relics of the Elder on February 2, 1996 and modern honouring of his blessed memory. The edition provides a consistent development of main events of the life of Emperor Alexander I – the man who gained a victory over Napoleon and created the Triple Alliance in order to strengthen the Sacred Monarchy – a guardian and keeper of the Christian Church on earth. It follows that all the monarchic courts in the world and the societies of aristocrats united around them (independently of religion) would consider it an honour to have this edition in their collection, especially the icon - painting image of St.Feodor of Tomsk – Emperor Alexander I. The visit of Princess Maria Vladimirovna Romanova, Prince George and other descendants of the royal family to Tomsk and to the monastery where the relics of the "Emperor – Elder" lie as well as their praying before the relics of the Elder can be an example of such an attitude towards the legend. The second and the third sections of the album are devoted to Elder Feodor Kozmich – St.Feodor of Tomsk whose image, like that of St. Seraphim of Sarov and St.Tsar - martyr Nicholas Alexandrovich II, without doubt belongs to the world history. The world history has not yet known any example of such a transformation of the Emperor overhung with glory into an elder - hermit "not remembering his kinship" who was crowned with an imperishable crown of Earth and Heaven sanctity for his unparalleled feet of resignation. The publishing of the album will have been finished by September 2001. This unique edition will adorn a shelf of any library in the world, private collection, museum and will be interesting for those who appreciate family, health and happiness of their nearest and dearest. It is not by chance that St.Feodor of Tomsk is called a moral brother of St.Pantileimon – Healer. It was testified by the metropolitan of Kharbiya and Manchuria Melety (Zaborovsky), moral father of Sanctifier John, the archbishop of San - Francisco (Maximovich). The album will be published in a birch bark wattled case the front side of which will have the form of a shrine for the gold icon of St.Feodor of Tomsk which will be located on the dust - cover. Such a technique of the design of an album is used for the first time in the history of the world polygraphy and book printing. By customer’s wish, more expensive variants of design can be made:
We will fulfil any your wishes concerning a colourful design of the album including its decoration with gold and diamonds. Every order is discussed separately, the circulation of the edition is limited. Approximate cost of the album - about 1000 EUR, with the exception of exclusive publication. Every order is negotiated separately, its circulation is limited. This icon depicts a famous legend about the meeting of Emperor Alexander I and Reverend Seraphim of Sarov. In 19-20 centuries a painting on this subject was created. Metropolitan Antony (Khrapovitsky) says about the painting: "One legend tells that Emperor Alexander I on his way from the monastery of Valaamsk where he went from Arkhangelsk came to Saratov and was met by Reverend Seraphim on the very road and having talked to him, the Emperor went further to the south. This event was engraved in oil - colours. In a big printing depicting the life of the saint and which was kept in galleries, there are several Russian monasteries". (Russia before the second advent of the Trinity-St. Sergiy Lavra 1993, page 123). The legend about the visit of Emperor Alexander I to Reverend Seraphim of Sarov is written down by a famous church writer of the beginning of the 20th century E.N.Poselyanin (Pogozhev) and is studied by him in connection with the personality of mysterious Tomsk elder Feodor Kozmich – Legendary Emperor Alexander I. The portrayal of the meeting of Emperor Alexander I with Reverend Seraphim of Sarov can be found among the stamps of the modern orthodox icon of Reverend Seraphim of Sarov. During his visit, Emperor Alexander I got from Reverend Seraphim of Sarov the following prophecy: "One day there will be a tsar who will glorify me, after that there will be a great disturbance on Rus, much blood will be flown, people will rise in rebellion against the tsar and autocracy but God will glorify the tsar". It was said about future Emperor Nicholas II, who in 1903 took part in transferring and glorification of the holy relics of Reverend Seraphim of Sarov, and about Nicholas II who was canonized in 2000 under the name of the tsar - martyr. According to the legend, it was Alexander I who by his secret leaving of the throne in 1825 forestalled and frustrated an ominous conspiracy of ideological successors of Judaic tsar Irod, perjurers – "Decembrists", who, under the influence of a man - killer - satan, in 1826 planned to completely destroy the reigning dynasty of Romanov so that a great expiator of Russian people – Nicholas II "Long - suffering" – was not born. The roll in the hand of Reverend Seraphim of Sarov symbolizes that he knows a mystery of the transformation of Emperor Alexander into elder Feodor Kozmich. The monk of Solovets Avel Prophetic tells about a secret leaving of Emperor Alexander I Blessed and his transformation into pious elder Feodor Kozmich in his famous "Centennial War": "The feat of a tsar service He will replace by the feat of the fast and prayer and he will be pious in God’s eyes". (Ðîññèÿ ïåðåä âòîðûì ïðèøåñòâèåì Òðîèöå – Ñåðãèåâîé ëàâðû 1993ã. ñòð.121). In the same edition on pages 168 and 169, one can find the description of an apparition appeared in 1917 to Moscow metropolitan (former archbishop of Tomsk canonized in 2000, Sanctifier Makary (Nevsky)) about a sin - offering victim for Russian people – tsar - martyr Nicholas (Emperor Nicholas II). At the end of the apparition the voice from Heaven told to Sanctifier Makary: "The Sovereign took the blame of Russian people upon himself and Russian people are forgiven". So, the feat of resignation of Emperor Alexander I (a secret leaving of the throne) taken with the blessing of Reverend Seraphim of Sarov allowed tsar - martyr Nicholas (Emperor Nicholas II) to save the soul and body of Russian people and fulfil before God the mission set by Him to the dynasty of Romanov. On July 17, 1918 in the city of Ekaterinburg the great sacrifice of tsar Nicholas II and His family made to expiate the sins of Russian people was taken by the Divine Tsar. On July 5, 1891 Emperor (at that time Tsesarevich) Nicholas Alexandrovich II visited Tomsk St.Virgin - Alexievsky friary and the grave of elder Feodor Kozmich – legendary Emperor Alexander I. In 1901 the father - deputy of this friary hieromonk Sergiy received from the abbess of the Virgin - Kazan Nunnery in Diveevo founded by Reverend Seraphim of Sarov an exact copy of the wonder - working icon "Tender Emotion of Our Lady" for the Church of the icon of the Mother of God of Kazan where now the relics of St. Pious Feodor of Tomsk lie. Pious Seraphim of Sarov prayed and gave his soul to God before this icon. Such historical and spiritual connections were established between icon - painting images of this icon for the first time built in the orthodox iconography. The icon was built in Tomsk during the Lent and it had been finished by the Easter of 2001. Saints, - Feodor of Tomsk, Seraphim of Sarov, tsar - martyr Nicholas – pray God for us.
This icon will be placed on the dust - cover of the album published by the fund "Äåðæàâà" and devoted to St.Feodor of Tomsk – Legendary Emperor Alexander I. The value and importance of this icon consists in the fact that it has a reliquary that contains the particles of the relics of elder Feodor Kozmich. "Elder’s face wonderfully resembles the features of Emperor Alexander Pavlovich", - historian and literary man Nikolai Guriev wrote at the beginning of the 20th century. Guriev was an editor of the book "Enigmatic Elder Feodor Kozmich in Siberia and Emperor Alexander I" that was written by Tomsk admirers of elder Feodor Kozmich (the book was published in Kharkov in 1912; and republished in Kaluga in 1993 under the title "Posthumous Life of the Emperor". The portraits of elder Feodor Kozmich are on pages 109 - 111). On pages 109 - 111 there are also details of the creation of a full - length portrait of elder Feodor Kozmich. I. G.Chistyakov (son - in - law of merchant S.F.Khromov) told us an interesting story about the portrait of Feodor Kozmich: "When in 1886, on the instructions of S.F.Khromov, the above - mentioned portrait of the elder was created, Khromov brought it to Moscow, to painter Appolinary Yakimov to ask him to paint the portrait of the elder in oil - colours. When S.F.Khromov came to Yakimov, the latter said: "Let me show you something" and went to another room. As soon as S.F.Khromov entered the room, he saw on the easel the same portrait of the elder but painted in oil - colours. Meanwhile, Yakimov had ever seen neither the elder nor even his portrait and did not know the aim of Khromov’s arrival. It turned out that he saw the elder in his dream and painted his portrait from memory". "According to Khromov, the reproduced portrait of elder Feodor Kozmich we have is very good. Some incorrectness can be seen only in the beard: elder’s beard was wavy but on the portrait it is straight". This new (2001) icon - painting image of St.Feodor of Tomsk was created in the icon - painting workshop of Tomsk Virgin - Alexievsky friary on the basis of survived portraits of elder Feodor Kozmich according to Greek - Russian icon - painting canons that were close to those of St.Andrei Rublev’s school (14-15 centuries). In this new icon there is no more place for "sadness” and “grief" that can be noticed in the pictorial portrait of the Elder. Here St.Feodor of Tomsk is represented with an inner spiritual light of the Heaven and Earth glory, as the Heaven prayer, patron and protector of the Holy Orthodox Church, monarchical system established by God and peace. The legend tells about his tsar origin and the portrait painted by Nikolai Guriev as well as many historical and literary books devoted to the investigation of the mystery of St.Feodor of Tomsk – Legendary Emperor Alexander I show the resemblance of the Elder and the Emperor. Reading the news on the site of the fund "Äåðæàâà", you can become witnesses of the presentation of other icon - painting images of St.Feodor of Tomsk.
